Dr Simon Fraser is a general paediatrician with specialty training in neonatology (newborn and premature babies). He worked as a specialist at the Mercy Hospital for Women in East Melbourne in 1990s and early 2000s until he moved to Warragul in 2005. In the late 2000s Dr Simon expanded his scope to include paediatric emergency medicine at Monash Children’s Hospital in Clayton and in the 2010s provided general acute paediatric inpatient care as a specialist paediatrician at Latrobe Regional Hospital in Traralgon. Dr Simon has been involved in outpatient hospital based paediatric care since the early 1990s and currently works part time in the Gippsland Private Consulting Suites in Traralgon.
Dr Simon also has qualifications in medical administration and has a strong interest in providing safe and high quality care to children, young people and their families.
Dr Simon is passionate about providing care and support to rural families and having worked in Victoria since 1993 has an extensive understanding of local, regional and state based paediatric services and is familiar with referral pathways and options for secondary consultation if and as required.
Dr Simon is particularly interested and experienced in looking after premature and newborn babies and their medical and developmental follow-up as well as managing medical and developmental issues affecting infants, toddlers, pre-school and primary school aged children but would continue to these children as they transition into and complete their chosen secondary education streams.
